Her beauty routine has attracted both positive and negative attention.

Ageing is an inevitable natural process that, despite our inherent desire to stay young, affects everyone. While many invest a fortune in cosmetics and beauty products to retain a youthful appearance, this trend is particularly pronounced among celebrities. Celebrities and beauty influencers often share their beauty regimens online, captivating their followers. However, one beauty routine has emerged that may elicit a strong reaction.

Colombian singer and influencer Koral Costa, renowned in Colombia for her successful singing career and social media influence, boasts flawless beauty. However, the method she employs to maintain her beautiful skin might be unsettling for many. Costa claims that she applies her urine to her face every morning, endorsing it as a remedy for blemishes and acne. Despite its perceived grossness and potentially unhygienic nature, she swears by its efficacy in providing cleaner and more radiant skin. She candidly discussed this unconventional beauty routine in a social media post.

Costa’s beauty regimen has sparked both positive and negative reactions. While some criticize her for the unorthodox and unhygienic practice, others defend her, citing the purported nourishing properties of urine. Interestingly, one commenter claimed that their grandmother also used urine on her face, attributing her flawless, wrinkle-free skin at the age of 96 to this unconventional method.

Daime Pérez Feito, a member of the Urology Working Group of the Spanish Society of Primary Care Physicians (Semergen), dismisses this treatment as lacking scientific evidence. He emphasizes that urine is a waste product containing harmful microorganisms, and its application can lead to diseases or transmission of other pathologies when ingested.

Drawing attention closer to home, the late Indian freedom fighter and fourth Prime Minister, Morarji Desai, was known for practising urine therapy. In 1978, he discussed the purported benefits of drinking urine during an interview with Dan Rather on 60 Minutes, attributing his longevity to this unconventional practice.
