India A Win Away From Equalling Australia’s Record Of Most World Cup Victories

India have been in red-hot form at the 2023 World Cup.

They have won 10 games on the trot in the tournament.

This is India’s best-ever run in the competition’s history.

They are now just one win shy of equalling Australia’s 2003 World Cup record.

The Aussies had remained unbeaten in their 2003 triumph with 11 successive wins.

India’s previous longest streak also came in 2003 under the leadership of Sourav Ganguly.

The Ganguly-led side won 8 consecutive games but ended up losing the final against Australia.

India’s third-longest winning streak came in the 2015 World Cup.

It was MS Dhoni who led India to seven straight wins in the competition.

They again ended up losing to Australia in the semi-final by  95 runs.
