BTS leader RM aka Kim Namjoon mourned the death of Matthew Perry. The actor played the role of Chandler Bing on Friends.

Friends actor Matthew Perry died on Saturday, October 28, in Los Angeles and one of his biggest fans, BTS leader RM has seemingly reacted to his death. The South Korean rapper has time and again said that he is a fan of Chandler, the character Matthew played on Friends. Soon after the news of Matthew’s death made the headlines, Kim Namjoon took to his Instagram Stories and dedicated a post in Matthew’s memory.

Following RM’s post, fans revisited all the times the BTS leader spoke about Chandler and Friends. It is no secret that Namjoon learnt English by watching Friends. Speaking with Trevor Noah at the Grammys 2022, Namjoon joked that FRIENDS is his English parents. He was then asked about who he is among the six characters, and he named Chandler. “I am like a Chandler. When I see him I feel so sad. I love him,” he said. On Carpool Karaoke with James Corden, Namjoon said that Chandler was his favourite character from the show.

The shocking news of his death was first reported by TMZ followed by Los Angeles Times. As per reports, Matthew was found dead at his LA home on Saturday evening, October 28. As reported by NY Post, the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed a man in his 50s died at Matthew’s address. However, they refused to confirm the identity. They said in a statement: “We responded to the 1800 block of Blue Sail Rd for a death investigation on a male 4:10 p.m. this afternoon. He was in his 50s.” No sign of foul play and no drugs were found at the scene. It has been reported that the first responders were called in to the residence for cardiac arrest.
